Ceiling lights are used for lighting up homes and Commercial spaces. In recess or surface-mounted applications, the Ceiling lights are all indoor lights with a rating of IP-20. These lights are used from the basement level up to the topmost floor of the building. However, in the basement, the topology of ceiling light changes as there is moisture content in the basement, and generally, there is no sunlight.
Ceiling lights are categorized into four types!
Recess lighting - These lights are generally round in size with varying diameters of 3-inch to 9-inchThe light output from these is generally diffused, and the area lit up is smooth and soothing to the eye. They are installed on a false ceiling and are cut out once the false ceiling is installed. Instapower specializes in supplying & installing lights in this category.
Surface lighting - The only difference between recess and the surface is how the light is mounted on the ceiling. The lights come with a plate that is screwed on the ceiling, and the light is installed after that.
Spotlighting / COB - these indoor lights are aesthetically attractive and powerful, having CRI> 90 & Over 100 lumens/W. These spotlights are beam-controlled using high-grade Optics. These lights are installed in recess applications where there is a false ceiling. The beam is symmetric or asymmetric, depending on the application.
Anti-glare lights – are unique COB lights with dark reflectors and deep recessed glare-free light with UGR < 16, SDCM<3. These are highly efficient with 100 lm/W and are flicker-free.
Niche Lighting - These are recess lighting (2w) used for over the TV and bathroom mirror. Their lights are minimal, so there is accent lighting around the space. These lights can be customized for an IP65 rating if required.
Profile lighting - These profile lights are used in many ways in residences & offices. We will discuss this in detail in our next blog & exclusive profile lighting.
Instapower can design lighting spaces using DIALUX, which is used by many designers use. Instapower follows the lighting code, which mentions the lux levels and uniformity required in different areas w.r.t residence & infrastructure projects.
The knowledge of light level, & design is essential to get the right lighting level for the spaces; otherwise, it can lead to vision impairment
In indoor lights, the CCT & CRI must be specified as the designer can then choose the required lights.
